My MMOG pick
This is one of the few games (or maybe online environments) that I have continued to play (experience?) for close to a year. It is
Second Life. There are so many things to do in the game. Residents hold daily events that are fun. Residents are also given most of the same tools that the developers use to create the world. This means you can build objects and script them to do just about anything. There is a 7 day trial available as well as a basic, one-time payment subscription available, in addition to premium accounts that allow you to own parcels of virtual land. Give it a try.
